This chair is very comfortable for me, with one exception. The bottom edges of the chair base (where the casters connect) are sharp enough to really hurt if you hit them with your heel. Which is something I have done frequently while scooting my chair forward. Other than that one caveat however, I am really liking the chair. I sit in it for the vast majority of the time i am at home, and it doesn't get uncomfortable over time. I think i will look into flat disc replacements for the casters to lower the chair a bit and hopefully make those heel busters into foot friendly areas.I'm 5'7" and have very wide hips and this chair is great! I was looking for a replacement for an old Safco executive chair with padded armrests/bonded leather that I purchased at Fry's over a decade ago, best chair I've ever had but padding was gone and it was falling apart, and this chair matches up to it in both dimension and comfort on first use.Since it's tough to be certain of usable dimensions of a chair online, I'll break it down for readers (I'm an engineer, it's what I do):**Usable seat dimensions, from chair back to front edge x between armrests: 20.5" (D) x 23" (W)(The waterfall design means the cushion starts tapering down about 2" before the edge depth-wise)**Usable back dimensions, from top of seat where it joins the back to the top of the back x width at the top: 28" (H) x 22" (W)**Distance/clearance between armrests: 22.5" (W)**Width of each armrest x height from top of seat to highest peak of armrest x depth from back of chair to front of cushioned part: 2.25" (W) x 8" (H, occurring 4-5" from back of chair then sloping downward) x 13" (D)**Total length of armrest cushion: 14" (L) straight horizontally/perpendicular to ground, 15" (L) actual accounting for the curve (for armrest cover fitting), the back of the armrest cushion goes a bit behind the forward part of the back of the chair.Exterior chair dimensions (actual footprint, not usable seat/back space):**Seat: 22.5" (D) x 24" (W)**Back (bottom of back to top): 30" (H) straight measurement**Base is about 25" diameter**Lowest height of floor to top of seat (I put roller blade style wheels which are about 1" taller than the stock wheels, I have subtracted that out of measurements): 20" (H)**Lowest total height of chair: 44" (H)**Highest height of floor to top of seat: 23" (H)**Highest total height of chair: 47" (H)Other information:My elbows can rest comfortably on the armrests, they are high enough, which is not the case with a lot of chairs (and with airline seats). The armrest padding is not very plush but with the soft fabric it is very comfortable.I have shorter legs and at the lowest height, even with my roller blade wheels, my feet touch the floor. The seat portion feels like it tilts up a little from the tailbone to the knees, that is likely due to the waterfall design and I don't love that but it's not too bad, I just wish it were totally flat. The cushion is nice but feels like it may deflate over time, and only time will tell. Lumbar is good when you lean back, during normal desk work I will be sitting forward and my back will not touch the seat's back, and I'm OK with that, the back feels like it is leaning back a little but it is very comfortable when I want to relax and lean back for a few. The back is tall enough such that the height is almost as high as the top of my head, so my head is fully supported should I wish to rest it by leaning back--taller people will obviously hit higher, but I believe that even someone 6' tall will at least have the lower portion of their head above the neck supported when leaning back.Overall, I am very pleased with the chair. It arrived extremely quickly even without Prime shipping and was very easy to assemble. The fabric is soft and comfortable and a nice medium gray (I got the plush gray one).Only time will tell if the chair cushions hold up.Chair is excellent. With exception that it will not recline. Seat padding is weak.I have had big and tall chairs before and they are usually just a bit wider than normal chairs...this one however grips my hips and sides like a vice which is weird because I don't even have that issue with non-big and tall executive chairs. The whole thing is false economy...the base is metal (the very bottom and the pneumatic cylinder) and that part could likely withstand a pretty substantial load, but the rest of the chair is brittle plastic which already has stress marks where the bolt holes are at the bottom of the armrests. The padding looks puffy and comfortable (especially in pictures) but the padding is much too soft and does not actually offer any sort of support. I can feel every cross-bar and plate in my lower back and butt when I sit...the padding collapsing to a paper-thin line of support which is useless. On top of the chair, there is this pillow of padding /headrest which has a yellowish chalky marking which looks like it was done when they were cutting the material but nobody wiped off the mark. It took a long long long time to clean it out, and it is still visible a bit (looks like a right triangle without the line opposite the right angle). I weigh 340lbs and have had this chair for about a month, but I would be amazed if this chair could last even two more months at this point. It is also beginning to lean heavily to the right. Yet another piece of garbage chair with a ridiculous price for what you get.I can say that it was really easy to put together. The instructions sucked and the different sized bolts were not marked, but if you have ever put a chair together, this one is pretty easy to put together solo. That is so far the only positive thing about this chair so far.The chair is very comfortable but the wheels were not good. I upgraded to skate type wheels and now it's perfect. If you are tired of chepo office chairs but still don't want to break the bank this is the chair for you. It was unexpectedly simple to assemble and has a HEAVY duty under carriage with a wide plush seat and back rest. I upgraded the wheels to the roller blade style which are kinder to my hardwood floors, but the stock wheels seem to be as sturdy as the rest of the chair. This chair is substantially wider than standard office chairs but if you are under about 5' 10" you may find it a bit tall even in the lowest position. I'm 5' 11" and it's comfortable in the lowest position although my feet will still reach the floor if I raise the seat slightly. Only my toes touch the floor in the highest position. As should be expected in such a heavy duty chair it is noticeably heavier than many standard size chairs however it rolls around with ease on hardwood. It seems more than capable of supporting it's maximum load rating of 400 pounds. I read a lot of reviews before buying this chair because I was tired of cheaper chairs that wore out after a year or less. I was tempted to just spend four or five hundred dollars on a higher end chair but am really glad I took a chance on this one, as the quality is as good or better than I would have expected on a chair costing twice as much.
