Several years ago I purchased a ridiculously expensive desk chair, a Nightingale CXO 6200-hd. It certainly served me well and in fact I still have it. It's never really fit me well as I have short legs and the seat is high enough that I can't sit back and reach the floor with my toes. I decided to give this chair a try. As I haven't had this for long my review may or may not need to be updated at some point.My chair arrived in a larger box than I expected, probably just because I had no idea what to expect. It arrived in good shape with no evidence of being mishandled during shipping. Upon opening the box I found all of the parts necessary inside the box and did not notice any damage to the chair. I set all the parts aside, put the scews in my shirt pocked, turned the box upside down to use as a makeshift table and went to town.I took the included little "tool" and set it aside. It was JUNK. I brought out my own Allen Wrenches which come in a fold out set and thus once folded out you can use the rest of the tool as a handle. It just made it so much easier on the hand! I stated by putting the seat on first. As I put the four screws in I didn't tighten them fully and I used a criss-cross pattern to tighten them slightly. By not tightening fully I was able to manipulate the seat in order to get all of the screws to align with the holes. I got them just tight enough so that they wouldn't fall out when I turned it upright to attach the back.I repeated the same criss-cross pattern to slightly tighten each screw, again manipulating the back as needed to align screws with holes and got all four to go in just fine. At this point I tightened them almost completely on the back, then turned the chair over again and tightened up the seat screws completely until tight. Finally I turned the chair upright and fully tightened the remaining screws in the back until fully tight. Done. The entire process took about 25 minutes from opening the box until I could sit in the chair.This appears to be a really nice chair. It's not real lether, obviously. Hopefully it will hold up for a lengthy period of time. It's comfortable to sit in, although I will never sit in full comfort. I have a fractured tailbone which makes sitting kind of a chore, but the chair is fine and not the source of my discomfort. This chair cost just over 25% of my previous chair, which I am likely to clean up good and give to my son. All in all, I think you could do far worse than this if you need a big, heavy duty chair that won't break the bank!This is a quality chair. Which is exactly why I'm so baffled by the choices made as far as protection during shipping.-There was no protection at the top whatsoever to protect the cushioned seat from a knife when the customer goes to open the box, which thankfully didn't turn into an issue for me.-There is only a thin sheet of cardboard between the metal arms and the seat, which provided no protection at all causing a tear in the underside of the seat during shipping. Luckily it's on the underside of the seat and small enough to cover with black tape and forget about.-Unlike other brands of furniture, this set comes with only exactly as many screws as needed. So if you drop/lose one, you're done until you find it. Luckily this also wasn't an issue for me.-The allen wrench provided did not actually fit the screws/bolts provided and I had to use the allen wrench from my previous chair... which was an entirely different brand. This is mostly caused by companies who send out allen wrenches with a colored coating on them. The allen wrench could be the right size, but it doesn't matter because the coating comes off instead of allowing the allen wrench to grip the screw/bolt.-The instructions are all of two steps which tell you to put the seat on before the back of the chair. There is no other way to do this because of the brackets which hold the actual seat, but you're going to get frustrated trying to wrestle the holes from the chair backing to line up with their brackets because the cushioned seat means you have to actively be pushing the chair backing down against the seat to get a screw/bolt in the proper hole. Most people don't have three hands for this task.Now that it's put together (and meant to hold a max of 1000lbs), nearly half of the bolts clearly aren't screwed all the way in, but I can't get them to continue turning to tighten them.I was initially a little spooked by all the reviews describing difficulty putting this product together, but it seemed fairly easy as a two person job, as it only took about 15 minutes. My son is 6'10, weighs over 400lbs and he says that this is the most comfortable chair he has ever owned. He's transferred to a work from home position and this is just the product he needed for an 8 hour shift.This is an excellent product and well worth the money, I am hopeful that the promised 5 year metal parts warranty lives up to the same standard. If so, they've gotten themselves a customer for life.I purchased the first chair and it had missing screws and the underside of the chair's lining was torn. The paintwork on the metal was peeling off. The chair also has plastic feet on four points of the chair. Two of the feet were cracked in half and unusable. This in turn made the chair unusable, as the screws are exposed and would destroy your floor. Removing the screws would damage the metal work of the chair and make it unsafe to use. I sent the chair back and requested a replacement. The replacement chair was even worse. The underside of this chair was also torn, two feet were also cracked and unusable. The metal paintwork was atrocious. The paintwork was inconsistent, some areas were not painted and in multiple areas the paint was coming off. I have never seen any product with such poor build quality. If you need to return this item, most Post Offices will not accept the package. It took me five different Post Offices, before I found a Post Office willing to accept the package, due to its size.Perfect chair without wheels so it won't slip, seat is angled properly so no danger of falling or slipping, very comfortable and says it can upto 500 lbs.Came dented. Otherwise comfortable. Debating whether I should return it.Comfortable side chair
