Fairly easy to assemble. Works great. The wide seat height adjustment range is fantastic and helpful. My only complaint is that the cream colored cushions are becoming discolored by my clothing. Specifically, the seat cushion is slowly becoming less cream and more denim colored each day (and not from new jeans).This chair is really easy to assemble with instructions provided. The height range (low level to highest level) is great. I purchased it for my raised craft table, and it fits perfectly. I only give 4 stars instead of 5 because of its comfort level. The back support is great. However, the cushion doesn't stay firm for long and it becomes a bit uncomfortable. I ordered 2 chairs at different times, and I didn't realize how much the seat cushion had decreased in the first chair until I ordered the second one and put it together. Other than that, it does what I wanted it to do and that was to be able to reach the height of my elevated table. Also, the grey color is really nice.It arrived on time. Was easy enough to assemble. Perfect height for my craft space.Got this chair today and while it's attractive, etc. I am not entirely pleased. FIrst, the chair sits VERY high even in it's lowest seat position, but worse than that, the foot rest is SO incredibly HIGH on the column that I cannot use it. I am a senior with a hip/knee issue and was hoping this chair would be helpful. I can't even get my foot up to the rest without causing myself a good deal of discomfort. NOT a good thing at all.The other thing I do not like is that I seriously considered returning this. My husband assembled the seat and is a retired contractor, so he knows tools, putting stuff together, etc. and once the chair was assembled, there was absolutely NO WAY to reverse it, take it apart and put it back in the box. The chair, roller base and foot rest are absolutely on there for life, so there's no chance to sending it back. I'm out whatever money I paid for it and I"m not entirely pleased with this product at all. So I"m stuck losing a reasonably large expenditure for this chair.It's pretty to look at, I like the back support, but as far as versatility, usability, etc. I'm just not happy at all. I have another hydraulic chair which is more than 30 years old. It's completely comfortable, functional and shows no sign of significant wear at all. I got this new one thinking it would help with my hip/seating problems and it just doesn't.Unless you're over 6.5 ft. tall don't bother. This is not a good chair for shorter people or people with joint issues.Very very pleased with this chair. Looking to purchase another asapUPDATE 2:I contacted the seller to see about getting a replacement seat base plate. They sent a new chair instead! It appears the manufacturer has addressed this weak spot as the new chair’s seat base plate has a reinforcing brace welded to it. See comparison pic.UPDATE:after 9 months of use cracks have formed in the base plate where the seat attaches to the piston. The seat is no longer level and canted back about 30 degrees. The chair is no longer safe to use and will need to be replaced.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I had been using an executive-style with my adjustable-height desk, but it was preventing me from putting the desk at its 'standing' position. The chair was so big that I didn't have room in my home office to push it out of my way while I stood, and so comfy that I was okay with that.Enter the Sophia & Williams drafting chair. This chair is miserable! Which is perfect for me, because it makes me stand at my standing desk. I'm 6' tall and weigh 204 pounds and I can tolerate the thing for maybe 45 minutes before my hips and tailbone are screaming at me to stand again. The chair is quite compact and - when fully lowered - stows easily under my desk at its standing position, even with the backrest attached.Great for people with stand desks. Easy to build. No instructions given.At first I was frustrated because my chair came missing a piece; however, the customer support was easy to contact and quick to respond. They sent me the missing part promptly and without issue. The chair was easy to put together and exactly what I expected. Very happy with how things turned out.
