The contents of the book are remarkable, to be enjoyed by any Byzantophile or history buff. The translation is a bit dry, but it is endorsed by M Dagron. This is not an easy read for those without prior knowledge of Byzantine terminology, however there is a glossary. This is an excellent resource for anyone studying often overlooked part of history, if not simply to be admired for its detail of imperial court or its wonderful diagrams.My only complaint is with the seller, who sent me a used copy instead of a brand new one.
