I bought the same chair in 2017. It still looks great, but the seat is a bit shiny and the foam has been compressed. This is just normal wear for a chair that I sit in EVERY DAY. I use it at a desk and a sewing station so the arms that flip up and out of the way are essential. The red is pretty too. Wish I had room for the blue one.The chair is identical to the old one I purchased in 2017. I rated the "easy to assemble" part down because there were two bolts that did not go in all of the way. Tried a different bolt (extras come in the package) and rethreading it a few times, but the same thing happened. It must be the threaded insert. Assembly is a one person job, although it is a bit awkward and heavy.I am also wondering if the spin lock is working. I don't care about that because I never lock it.This office chair is the best in terms of comfort, appearance, and sturdiness at the best price around. For the money, this is a decent chair. The instructions were pretty easy to follow, but the diagram was small - even with my glasses on, I still ended up taking a picture with my phone so I could expand/magnify it so I could see it properly.Attaching the bottom of the seat to the armrests is kinda tricky - it’s better if you have two people, one to hold it in place and one to insert the bolts/screws in straight. If they go in even the slightest bit crooked, you will strip it out easily and you won’t know until it’s too late. I got three out of four to go in straight, I had zero luck with the fourth. :/ Now, when I sit in it and move/shift my weight, there’s a nice creak, but not on the side with the missing bolt. I’m pretty strong for my size, and I tightened them down well. I don’t know if this is because I don’t have one of the bolts in there or if this is a annoying characteristic of the chair. I’m figuring I need to take more of the blame for that one.The back is comfortable, I like the mesh. The bottom could be a little more durable, as I’ve used it less than a week and after sitting in it for a few hours, I can feel the plywood bottom (I weigh less than 140 lbs). It does spring back up, but I wish the pad was a little thicker for my behind as I already have low back issues. I imagine a more expensive chair would have better padding, but for those of us that don’t want to spend another $100+, this isn’t too bad. I gave it three stars because of the difficulty in keeping the bolts straight, the subsequent creak and the cushion. A small cushion on top will be a good addition and hopefully a cheap fix. This is a chair that actually works for me. I work at my desk most of the day so the right chair is important for me. I've tried at least 5 others that gave me back pain. This chair is perfect! It has the right seat cushion and back support. It was also super easy to assemble.I love the look of the chair color, it is comfortable, and how much space it saves in small room. The flaw is the manufacturing, 2 holes in the bottom for arm were not properly made, the screws that were provided either were too small or too large so I had to improvise and use screws provided but tightened which still leaves a gap of the screw sticking out. Hopefully this will not compromise the stability of the chair but it is too much of a hassle to take apart and return.I bought this to replace a leather executive office chair I use in my home office. That one had been clawed by cats on the back and was looking shabby. It also looked funny because I had to take the arms off the chair to get it to slide under my desk. When I saw that this one had arms that flipped up and was not all leather AND was on a lightening deal I took a chance. The pros: The chair looks expensive and the arms flip up so it can push in completely to a desk. The cons and I'll live with its: I got the brown version and was slightly disappointed that only the mesh and leatherette portions were brown - all plastic parts are black or silver (frame the mesh attaches to is black. Crossbars on the back are silver - this is my least favorite part since it stands out when you look at it from the back)). But I will get used that that.It came with a scratch on the silver base but I happened to have a silver paint marker and a quick dab with that fixed it.It is nowhere near as comfortable as my previous chair. The seat is rather firm and isn't comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. Also it doesn't recline easily. I loosened the tilt tension all the way and I can get it to recline a bit but only if I put my feet up on my desk and really push back. Hoping that loosens up over time.Overall, it's an ok chair. Since looking expensive and having flip up arms were my primary requirements I am keeping the chair - it knocked those two out of the park. But I would have really liked to have the chair be more comfortable for the price I paid. This is not a bad chair. We ordered it while it was cheap. There are some minor nitpicks, though. The LexMod Attainment chair has very good lumbar region support. The seat cushion is adequate, though it does become a little uncomfortable after several hours. (I work with music, so I'm often in the chair for long periods of time)The reason I bought the chair, was because I wanted a decent chair with good back support and pivoting arms. I am learning/practicing guitar at the computer, so being able to rotate the arms out of the way is a huge plus.My only real niggles besides the seat cushion, is that the arm cushions while adequate, are a little soft. I often lean on the arms, and after 2 weeks, there's already elbow impressions. The arm cushion could have been a little thicker or more firm so that indentations/impressions were not left.. Also, while the chair does lean back, it doesn't do so easily. Even with the tension completely loosened, it is hard to lean back, and you are pretty much almost always in an upright position. (this could be good or bad, but I like being able to lean back somewhat)Otherwise, I do feel it's a very good chair for the money, and it fits me very well. (I'm 5'10" and about 180 Lbs.) but since I did have some mild nitpicks, I gave it 4 stars. There were a number of chips and marks in the armrests and base. I ordered a replacement but within an hour thought better of it bc I think it is the finish on the silver parts of the chair (that looked white in the product listing) and another one will be the same. Despite there being no way it was shipped since it took over 3 weeks the first time, it would not let me cancel. now I have to return it when it arrives.I have had this chair for 6 months straight now as a replacement to my cheap Staples chair. The back mesh is looseThe paint on the plastics and the legs is wearing offThe pedal makes noise when locked, and when it's not locked, the chair creaks when swingingThe seat is completely flatThe leatherette on the right arm rest is cracking apartThe left arm rest keeps looseing itselfThere's a pokey bit (a screw?) poking my elbow every so often in the right arm restBoth arm rests are flatThe backplate holding the mesh in place is not clipped in place properly (although the mesh does not fall out, more of an annoyance than anything)The chair's piston wobblesThe wheels are crapThe logo on the back is peeling offEverything on this chair except the shaft/piston, the pedal, the swivel mechanism and the wheel base is plastic.Everything gray is even cheaper plastic, it's full of holes and difformities. The wheel base is painted gray, the base coat is actually black, as revealed by my feet rubbing against them.Get yourself something a bit more expensive, it will last you longer. The chair arrived two days after I ordered it-very fast for free shipping and five days sooner than Amazon anticipated. The chair was so well packed. There was cardboard over foam over bubble wrap -nothing was going to scratch it. You have to put the chair together yourself and when I pulled all the pieces out of the box and the wrapping it looked like a robot had exploded in my living room! But so simple to put together. I could have done it all by myself but had help for attaching the back to the seat just because its an odd angle. The brown wouldn't have been my first choice but at such a discount from the other colors why not? Besides it's a dark brown and I had to point out to the first few people that the chair wasn't black and we all like it more because it is just a bit different. The arm rests conveniently pull up and out of the way when I don't want them. Does everything a chair is supposed to and looks good too. Would definitely recommend to others.Very low quality materials used in the build and the seat is very thin and uncomfortable. I was expecting more for the price as you can easily find a high quality chair for the same money at a local store. My criteria was the folding arms, so the chair goes under the desk easily and for that point, this chair worked fine.So far so good. They're comfortable, colourful, look good/high tech in the room, and I really like that the arms rotate up so that they can be more easily pushed under the table — great for one of our smaller meeting spaces.
