This is a nice, simple, basic podium that has met my needs for teaching English as a second language. It is a nice height and I like the built-in shelf that is underneath where I can put books, papers, pointers, etc. I like how it has the lip on the top as well where I can easily rest books and papers. It was easy to put together and looks good as well.Some of the ratings are low but I've not seen reviews to state why the low ratings. Yes, I have seen better podiums but they were solid wood and much more expensive. This is a podium for those who don't need the quality of solid wood and who just need something utilitarian that works. I'm fine with it myself.
